WOW. it took me this long to finally update this blog. but yeahhh.. i'm finally back. give me a woop wooop!

On my last update, I was helping The Beat Freaks get into stage with Michael Jackson. Two of my favorite members of the group, Maryss and Rino actually auditioned for MJ and they got the gig to work for him (as dancers) in his London concert. Unfortunately, as you all know... MJ passed away before the said concert. It was a sad day for everyone.. (or almost everyone). Even if you're not a dancer or a singer, it would be hard to say that the King of Pop never influenced you. That would be a complete lie. Don't even tell me you never tried doing the moonwalk or "the lean", or sang his songs. Much respect to the greatest dancer of all time, RIP Michael Jackson.

Moving on to lighter things... can you imagine.......I'VE FINALLY MET THE BEAT FREAKS!!!!!!!! chyeah!!!

Once upon a time, I was just another youtube viewer who happened to see a video of this girl... rippin' the dancefloor. Her name is Rino Nakasone, and I knew right away, that this is the sickest dancer I've ever seen. I've started watching more of her dance classes... and tried to learn her choreo. I have never taken a dance class my entire life, I've always been self-taught.. I see it on tv or internet, and I copy it. So for years, Rino's videos became my online dance classes. And then I came across this montage of Rino and Maryss, otherwise known as The Geminiz. The carnival video basically tells it all... and their story inspired me to go for my dream. That I should go out and get it. Instead of staying home, I should take a class... I should show my talent... I should pursue my passion.

It's sad but it's true if I say that I haven't really considered dancing as a profession. People need REAL jobs (that's been ingrained in my head) hence, I never took it seriously. It was just a pastime. But I've promised myself that one day.. I would visit LA and go to Debbie Reynolds Studio to take Rino and Maryss' class. But I've never thought it would come sooner.

Rino and Maryss are members of an all-girl dance crew BEAT FREAKS (if you haven't caught on). They joined America's Best Dance Crew, Season 3... and every week I was waiting for their performance (on youtube that is). If you haven't seen any of their performance, I think its about time you should. It would be hard to watch their routines and not become a fan instantly.

Then it was February, when the Beat Freaks Fans Ning community started. I was one of their early members. It became the Official Fansite of the ladies, since Beat Freaks themselves are members of the site. I've made lots of friends, most members are usually cool. Eventhough BF didn't win in the show, they have done so much more to their fans. Some have decided to meet up during the Monsters of HipHop Convention to be held at Orlando, Florida in July of 2009. And I, was one of them.

Although I didn't have enough money for the trip, I knew that I wanted this to make another dream come true. Its now or never. I so badly wanted to take the dance class, but the advanced classes (which i was sure Rino and Maryss would be teaching) was way out of my budget. So I just decided to go there as an observer, I'd still get to meet them anyway.

Later on, I've learned that Maryss won't be in Orlando... she'll be in France during that time. I was saddened, but well... she will be with her family so we gotta understand.

July 16, I left for my 23 hours flight to Orlando. There are no words to explain how much I was feeling at that time.

This is gonna take a while, so I suggest you grab a soda and popcorn.. sit back and relax..... hahaha!

For the love of the Freaks....
Just watching the Beat Freaks perform each challenge in ABDC, made me want to get up and join them. Beat Freaks really changed the way many people look at female dancers. As I've mentioned, I love to dance, but I never really considered doing it professionally...especially hiphop has been viewed as a male-dominated scene. But after I’ve watched so many Beat Freaks performances.. and them showing women empowerment…and spreading the message to “Freak the Dream,” that’s where I really got my encouragement to pursue dancing again. (I'm now taking dance classes.) That’s why I have a huge respect for the Beat Freaks.

When I learned that the Beat Freaks were gonna be at Monsters of Hip Hop for 2 days: giving classes, doing meet and greet, Q&A and the performance. I knew it was the perfect opportunity to meet them. I just wanted to see them. Maybe just take a picture and an autograph...and that’s it for me. Just to be in the same room as the Beat Freaks… is a dream come true for me. However dorky that sounds. But the Beat Freaks and my fellow ningers who went there gave me the best memories ever. Just remembering Orlando always brings a smile on my face. It made my year. The Beat Freaks are just so down to earth people and talk and treat you like you’ve been friends forever. Up to now, I still can’t get over it. I wasn’t able to go to DisneyWorld (boo, being poor. lol) but Hyatt Hotel was the happiest place on earth for me during that weekend. Call me cliche, i don't care. :p

Thank you sooo very much Rino, Keeley, Teresa, Lindsey, Shorty, Jules, LeeJ, and Gene of MOHH for making it happen!!! I love you Beat Freaks. You guys are amazing… More Power and Keep Freaking the Dream!

Although I didn’t get to meet Maryss,I’m hopeful that I will meet her soon and see the Beat Freaks again… when they visit the Philippines. If you can read this... please, please visit us!

CALLING ALL BEAT FREAKS SUPPORTERS and dancing enthusiasts!!

Beat Freaks Fans at Ning have started the FREAK THE DREAM petition. We need as many signatures as we can get to get the Beat Freaks on stage with the man himself, Mr. Michael Jackson. Word is he will be retiring soon and only has a few more performances left. Let's get these ladies on stage with him! We want the Beat Freaks to dance with MJ just as much as they do. Seeing as how they're such an inspiration to us, we're going to do everything within our powers to help them achieve this dream. Chasing the Glove is now in effect.

Sign the Petition: CHASING THE GLOVE

We at least want to get 100,000 signatures. PLEASE HELP US REACH THIS GOAL. Get your family, your friends, classmates, teammates, roommates, co-workers, neighbors, etc. to sign.

It only takes a minute to sign and it would mean the world to not only the ladies of the Beat Freaks, but to their loyal supporters as well.

It's fast, easy and FREE (you don't need to make any donations). just write your name, email and comment.. go back to main page, voila.. your name is there!

You can even sign it as anonymous if you want. But please don't sign more than once as it could potentially make this whole petition null and void.

Feel free to join us over on the fansite, Where you can hang out with other Beat Freaks supporters, you can view pics/videos as well as upload your own. You can even join us in the chat. There are plenty of cool things about this site, but the only way to find out the full extent is to join us over there. Don't worry, we don't bite.

Beat Freaks Freak

17 February 2009

A couple of days ago I learned that the Beat Freaks are one of the contestants in Mtv's America's Best Dance Crew (aka ABDC), Season 3. Beat Freaks consists of 8 females with killer dance moves. For those who is not aware, I've been a huge youtube stalker of two of their members: Rino and Maryss from Paris. I'm jealous of their energy and swagger. XD If you're curious, just search their name in Youtube and prepare for some jaw-dropping moves.

Watch my posted video below to see for yourself:

They're now on their 6th week, with 5 crews remaining...and I'm hoping they'll win this season and get the title. We need as much support from everyone as we can get. Please visit & watch America's Best Dance Crew every Thursday at 10pm/7pm on MTV. (AN: I don't know the showtime here in the Phils. cuz I watch them online.)

I also created an Unofficial fan page in Friendster - Beat Freak Freaks. If you're a fan, join me and show your love & support to the Beat Freaks!

Let's help The Beat Freaks win ABDC Season 3! Freak the VOTE!

The Lease, part 3!

11 February 2009

GOOD NEWS!!! We found a perfect new space for my shop! woot! it's just that I'm gonna spend a lot of money again for improvements: getting doors, walls, grills, windows, toilet, etc. done before moving. It's near where I'm currently renting, and location is so much better since it's on the ground floor (compared to my current space: 3rd flr).. soooo, improvements might be done on March, then we'll move there April. hopefully! I'm gonna sign the new contract this coming Sunday. It's a HUGE relief since it means I'm still gonna be close to my current customers. Weee!!! There's 2 other businesses willing to rent the space (one is a computer shop, the other is a restaurant), but thanks to Tekla she was able to get to the owner first. Heh. Chalamat ng madami, bstfrnd!!!!!

...and...earlier this morning, I've also talked to Mr. P*t@ng*toot*, just clarifying that I'm gonna use my remaining advance and deposit until April, then we're moving out. Hurrah!

before I forget, Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!!!!! <3

lease update

23 January 2009

Soo.. anybody here interested about the lease? NO? well, I'm still gonna talk about it. Hehe. So I talked to the lessor or landlord (well, I don't really like calling him landlord. cuz he's not the real owner, and he's not my lord.... he's only the caretaker. Anyway, let's just call him d!ckhead for easier reference.

I personally talked to the Owner of the bldg. (cuz they just arrived from abroad), and guess what the old couple told me? They said.. that I should've been the one to 'give way' to d!ckhead. That I should've backed-off cuz he was upset. and I told that fuckin old lady that I didn't even argue with him! D1ckhead was the one yelling at me, when all I did was request if he can give the papers to me here in my shop.. since I couldn't leave that day. That's the last straw for me, I thought they would be more understanding... hey, I'm the paying tenant but nope, they're on d*ckhead's side and won't even listen. They said they trusted d*ckhead, and he is the one who decides. Wow.. talk about customer support, eh?

I really thought I could still stay here, if the Owner at least apologized for d!ckhead's behavior. I am a pacifist... and I was expecting that they'd somehow talk to him and straighten him up. But I was beyond disappointed with how they handled it. Stressing the blame on me. Not at all professional, they're all a bunch of bullsh!tters!

So after that conversation, I talked to d!ckhead (under my mom's watch, cuz otherwise if i talk to him alone.. he acts like he is superior over me. cuz i'm younger AND a female.) And I told him I'm gonna use my advance payment + my 1 month deposit until March. I'm NOT gonna renew the contract, and that's final.

Now, I know why a lot of businesses don't stay in this building for long.

for my poor pride

16 January 2009

just really want to vent out right now.. my head feels like it's about to explode anytime soon.

It's January, this time of the year is the renewal of mayor's permit and paperworks for my computer shop. so 2 weeks ago, I've been asking the lessor (the one who's leasing the office space of Redge Computer), to give me a lease of contract cuz it's part of the requirement to get my permit. He's been putting it off for days... saying different excuses everytime. First was, (reason 1) his lawyer cannot notarize because her license expired. He won't be able to give me one until Jan. 30th, and that's not really what I wanted to hear.. since that would mean that I would incur penalties in the mayor's office for filling late. I asked him, nicely, if he can find other lawyers. So then he 'said' that he looked but (reason 2) he can't find one cuz they're all busy. fucking bullshit! so then he told me that they're just gonna go with their current lawyer (the one who has an expired license) but he said that there shouldn't be any problem with the paper. I don't know if that is legal or not, using a 2008 license for 2009 documents. I don't have any background on that, but I do think that if there is a problem... it would be their lawyer's ass who can get sued. so I said fine, as long as it's acceptable. So that was settled Friday, he said the contract should be ready by monday. Monday came, (3) he said tomorrow. Tuesday I asked him if it's ready, (4) he said tomorrow. Wednesday, (5) he said tomorrow again. and I've told him before that I cannot leave the shop, unless someone would be there to watch out for it (which is my bestfriend). Thursday came and I was busy with SSS paperworks, so I've asked my bestfriend to watch the shop for me that morning. When I arrived at the shop that afternooon, (after my bestfriend just left) the Lessor called and said that I have to go with him to the lawyer at 3pm. I said I couldn't, I just arrived... nobody's gonna look out for the shop since my friend just left and went to work. I told him to bring the documents that I have to sign, here in the shop.. since I cannot leave. He said that he can't, I have to go with him. So really I can't leave, because I have customers and there's no one who could replace me. I explained that on my apartment (where I sleep), the lessor there brings us the documents to sign. He said he's not like that... because that would mean he's gonna go back and forth to the lawyer and me, and he's really busy. Lessor suggests that he's taking my mom instead to sign for me. I texted my mom, she got angry and said... why would she sign she's not frickin Regina F*ll*r*s. Great. Then mom said that I should wait till Lessor hand the contract to me, and she doesn't want me to sign anything cuz mom wants to read the said contract first. So I told the Lessor that, he got angry... and told me different stuff... raising his voice at me... he said I've been rushing him and now that he's free, why won't I just close my shop.. he said that doesn't your mom read the previous contract, it's basically the same... yada yada... i told him I'm just not gonna sign until mom reads it (cuz otherwise, mom would get angry at me. I know I'm the owner of the shop. But i still have respect for my mother.) he said that the lawyer was already on vacation or at home, and he asked her to go back to office just to make the papers and all that stuff. So really, he was yelling at me at that time (over the phone). I am a very quiet person, it's not in my nature to be rude to older people. I stayed quiet, and told him that fine, if he can't bring it to me... then I'm not gonna renew the contract.. I'm just gonna use my 2 months advance payment. so then he asked for my mom's number. After that, they had face-to-face confrontation. I don't know what was exchanged, cuz I was still here at the shop.. they were downstairs. mom summarized that Lessor raised his voice at her too, and she did the same. words were exchanged, it was a pretty heated conversation. so now my mom is pissed too, and she doesn't want me to renew the contract. As of right now, I'm beyond angry... cuz he's been treating me like an idiot. This is not the first time he's been rude to me. Everytime I ask for a request (like for an electricity in the toilet), he's always putting it off.. and when I follow up on the request, he gets pissed and becomes rude to me. So I've been thinking about it since yesterday and last night.. and this morning.. and I realized that I OWE HIM NOTHING! I always paid him on time, if he requests that I pay him earlier because he's short in money, I do that.. without complaining. if he needs keys on the building's gate, because his stupid relatives locked themselves inside.. I wake up at 7am to give him my keys! I've been too nice to him, and then for him to just yell at me.. I can no longer tolerate that. he's pissed cuz i can't go for ONE frickin day, when I've been waiting for him to do that contract for almost 2 weeks! when I know he can bring the documents to me... he's just being lazy.

so now my problem is I don't really want to stay here any longer... I want to move my computer shop. But at this time there are no vacancies left for office space. If I find one, it's gonna be too far from my current customers (which are mostly college/highschool students).. and I have to do it soon. If I can't find one, I'm thinking I'm just gonna close the shop... and... I don't know...put the computers on storage... really, I don't know... I'm having a huge headache right now.

If I stay, I know he's gonna bullshit me again. and I don't want any of that. I put up my own business so I won't have to put up with anyone's shit and those fuckwits. He should be nice to me cuz I am paying him!

sorry if this is too long, and please excuse the language. this is how i often clear my head.. I put my feelings into words... try to separate my emotions and look if i'm just being dramatic or overly dramatic.. and then I get decisions from it.. this would be over soon. hopefully. help me God.

A Puzzle

06 January 2009

Sharing with you a little something I've received via email, maybe it would brighten your day... :)

Imagine you are in Africa .. You have been tied hanging on a tree with a rope anchored on the ground, a candle is slowly burning the rope, and the lion is waiting for you to drop and be his lunch.

Your survival hinges on the rope staying intact, there is no one around to help you. The only possible way is to somehow convince the lion to BLOW the candle out. How do you do that?

Happy New Year Everyone! I'm back!!! Who missed me?

So I spent my Christmas with family in Washington. I wished for snow, so I can snowboard again. But you know about the old saying.."be careful what you wish for." Cuz I got just that!

Dec. 21, I arrived in Seattle. It was packed... with snow and people. I was fortunate enough that my flight arrived on time, and I didn't lose any of my luggages. Most travelers did. Some have been in the airport for days, they can't even change their clothes.. and flights were canceled one after another because of the weather. First day and I realized what a mistake it is to wish for snow. Don't get me wrong, snow is pretty.. but they should stay in the mountains. Hehe. Because of the thick ice, our car got stuck... and we have to push... and push... and push again.. still it won't move. :p

Dec. 22, my sister arrived from another state. Unfortunately, she lost her luggage in the airport. We were ready to go home and eat... but then the car got stuck again. Shovel, push, shovel, push...

Dec. 23, we don't have a car.. it got stuck, again. So we decided to walk to the nearest mall, to shop and dine. Took about 30 minutes to get there. And then we got a good news, FedEx called my sister... and they're delivering her lost luggage. Yipee. But there's bad news, they won't leave her luggage at home... so instead they're following us to the mall to give her the luggage. Huh! We couldn't hire a taxi. All companies we've called are busy, so nothing left to do but -- woot.. drag the 50 lbs. luggage all the way home. At least she only brought one. :p

Dec. 24, another sister decided to finally put some snow tires on, cost about more than $600, but at least we'd be able to move around. We finally bought christmas decors, our christmas tree, xmas gifts.. and xmas foods!

Christmas Eve - opening of presents!!!

Christmas Day - went out to watch "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, " with 4 sisters. It was a great movie. Me and siblings thought... *warning: movie spoiler* .. at least I'd be cute when I die. Hehehe.

Dec. 26 - umm. what happened? I slept? ... and did my laundry.

Dec. 27 - I started packing my stuff up. We went out that night, to visit Bellevue Square and dine at Yama - a japanese restaurant.

Dec. 28th - Woke up when sister asked me, "what time are you leaving?" and I check the clock, it's already 9am! Eeeeekk! my flight is at 12 noon. Good thing, there were no major traffic. I'm still lucky. Hehe. Left Washington, back to P.I. Where the sun is shining, and my skin doesn't dry... and St. Ives won't irritate it.. and I'll have my milk lotion. :p It's nice to be home!

Again, with the question, who missed me? :)

It might take a while for Santa to load... but here are some pics. Enjoy!
